Just saying hi - - it is raining here in Bowling Green, Kentucky

I knew the rain was coming, and it is finally here today. I'm very glad the grass is mowed!

This posting should be called, Projects in Bowling Green Kentucky, Getting organized for September 2012, throwing away clutter, labeling boxes, pricing and organizing boxes and books, book pricing, and looking for things you know you will never find. :-)

The little house and trees in the back yard - another project!

Today I got some things done, and cooked for the first time in awhile. I look forward to getting back to posting on all my blogs and sites again.

My jobs here today and continuing include pricing and organizing of books, clearing out of boxes, looking for long-lost paper items, and generally getting rid of much stuff that I don't use anymore.

I would love to have an attic or extra room! But this is working for now.

Here's a good size attic space, though it needs work. It is by Berr.e on Flickr.I lightened it up a tad...

The Flylady at the Flylady site has a saying, "You can't organize clutter." This is so true.

If I was a lot less cluttered right now in my house it would be SO much easier not to have to look through every packing box for something I didn't think I would ever need.

I plan to label all boxes with whatever is left so it will be easy to find the year and subject next time. So this is teaching me a good lesson. Be organized! And don't store clutter.

Wish me luck!

Are you organizing and/or looking for papers today or this week? Write a comment and let me know your methods.

And thanks for stopping by today!

Here is a photo of the Fountain Square Fountain - - it looks even better with the water going!

5 Great Things Organizing Is Doing for Me

My Organizing Journey - - here are some fun things about it.

Everyone knows the downside of organizing (and cleaning!) - - the time, the effort, the packing, the getting rid of stuff, the dusting, the labeling, the foot and muscle soreness, etc. etc.

But there are some really great things about it too.

Here are some I thought of lately:

1. I am finding things I thought I lost!

2. I feel good about myself.

3. I am excited about projects for the future, finding crafts and etc. while organizing.

4. I am getting rid of dust and old magazines, plus recycling paper, magazines, books, and cardboard.

5. I am getting in better shape doing a lot of carrying and walking.

Are you organizing too? Or are you pretty much caught up with that? Do you do Spring Cleaning instead, and then stay on top of it?

I am definitely on an Organizing Journey because I tend to collect things that need to go, like magazines, old books, new books, etc. etc. Now I am sharing these things with others, donating to thrift stores, trading in for other books, and putting things where they go.

There are some groups I use now to get me motivated and to help me stay on course with my organizing. The best one is the FlyLady group. Although they do have some things for sale there, most of their services are free, like a free daily planning page, hints, and a message board.

Are you organizing too? Leave your thoughts about organizing and cleaning below. Do you have some handy tips?

And thanks for visiting today! :-)

My To-Do List and the Flylady Site - baby steps...

It is official. There is not enough room on an standard 8 1/2 x 11 sheet to put my entire to-do list on it.

So I have decided to take baby steps and try to still DO my to-do stuff, but have realized that perhaps it will not get done in one day, or even one week.

I will prioritize as I go, and not obsess about it as much.

Today, I will not start writing it here... but I am guessing that my readers also probably have a to-do list longer than their arm too. I can share that my list does include repair work, snail mail letters, and book organization. (I have a LOT of books...) But mostly it is the "stuff" that gets in my way. I have altogether too much stuff, a la packrat style. And now I want to simplify. And that means the stuff has to go.

I have found a great website to help me with my to-do list, and all my "stuff" that must be sold, organized, or donated. It is the Flylady Site. If you have a to-do list that includes a LOT of stuff in your house that needs attention, moving, selling, donating, etc. then you will really like it.

It is a free site. They do sell some cleaning aids but you don't have to buy them to get value from this site. You can set it up so that you get an inspiring email in your mailbox every day too.

Here is that link again:

I'm off to shine my sink.

Leave a comment, won't you? I would love it.
