Art Around Town

SOME ART SHOWS AND GALLERIES in the Bowling Green Kentucky area.

There are many great art galleries here in Bowling Green, Kentucky and nearby. Here are some exhibits showing in Bowling Green and in nearby communities too.

Gallery 916 has now moved from their old location at 916 State Street to their new one at 601 State Street. They have ever-changing exhibits.

The Capital Arts Center is celebrating 30 years of operation. The Capital Arts Galleries are open 9-5 Monday through Friday. They are now allied with SkyPac.

SKyPAC (The Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center) is the new venue in town for plays and for art. Check them out at their site here.


The Pots Place Co-op Studio and Gallery at 428 East Main is showing new ceramic art from all of many different potters now. They are open 11-5:30 Tuesday through Saturday.

The Presbyterian Church at 1003 State Street has changing exhibits throughout the year. They are open 8-4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enter through the 10th street side entrance. 843-4707.

Gallery on the Square in Franklin exhibits the work of many artists. http://www.galleryonthesquare.org/index.html.

The Historic Railpark and Train Museum has many different shows and often shows art too. 745-7317.

The VSA Arts Access Gallery is open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 781-0872. http://www.vsartsky.org/

The Pushin Building Artist Studio at 400 East Main has many studio artists. It rents out studio space. (791-3617).

TeaSquares on Fountain Square also has art in their new shop, and so does Spencer's Coffee Shop downtown.

Western Kentucky University here in Bowling Green, Kentucky has several art display locations, including the IWFAC Gallery and two Corridor Galleries. They have over 15 exhibitions every year.

Western also has a library gallery throughout Helm-Cravens, and show these works of faculty and students here on a virtual gallery tour.

Candlemakers on the Square now features work by Jay Dougherty and Jared Weaver.
