Ebay, I'm trying you out again. Also: Auctiva, and the Dutchess of York.

Are you on Ebay? I am now back there. I have so many things to sell. I want to pare down my collections again too.

So now I am going to try to sell there at Ebay again. I might even get a store later on again. I used to have one, and liked it.

Here is my Auctiva Store.

It lists my Ebay items. I put the first one on there today. It is a cassette tapebook by Sarah the Dutchess of York. I listened to this one myself and really liked it.

I must admit, I had a bad attitude towards her after seeing her infamous photos inthe tabloids. The way she explains it in the tapebook makes all kinds of sense. I really like her now. And she has some very interesting things to say about the "powers behind the throne" that really got me thinking.

About Auctiva: I use Auctiva to help me list items. It also serves as a great place to list items that are on Ebay. It is all automatic. Auctiva also helps me list with lots of photos if I want. I love photos, because you can see more views of what is for sale.

I also changed my settings in Ebay to allow me to post on Facebook when I list. Now to find an automatic way to list with Twitter too.

Last of all, please leave a comment if you are also on Ebay or sell somewhere else. I would love to visit your store or shop.

Listing in the Rain

My New Weekly Newsletter
and Ebay Listings
From The Garden Spot
Thursday, 4-3-08

Hi, all!

I wanted to "get posting" today here on my blog, and I'm also posting items for sale on Ebay, too. It's a quiet kind of day... and very peaceful.

My Ebay Items
I have some Stephen King and Peter Straub books, Bob Brigl pottery, a vintage look tin box, a PowerNotes teaching CD, and a Power English cassette training system for sale on Ebay this week.

You can go to see my Ebay listings here.

Here at The Garden Spot in Bowling Green, Kentucky, it's raining - a lot. The pond across the street is filled up all the way, and water is streaming into the cave drain from all the neighbor's houses up and down the street.
My Business News

This week, I bit the bullet and bought a copy of Microsoft Word. I got Office 98, which works terrific on my OS 10.2 system.

Now I can access the great artwork available on the Microsoft site. Will I be able to download it successfully on my Mac? I hope so, because the clip art there is great, and there is a lot of it.

You can check out the Microsoft clip art area here.

My To-Do List - or: What Happened to my Seedlings...

Some of my new seedlings disappeared this week. I couldn't figure out why. Then I looked a bit closer and saw some little tiny bugs in the soil where the little seedlings used to be.

I still have much to learn about gardening, and even more about starting my own plants.

Looking closely at soil before and after planting is one thing I have learned to do next time.

Also, I think next time I will plant outside in a mini-greenhouse (so they get more sun than the window) OR use storebought soil (so they don't have bugs in the soil that like to eat seedlings).

Well - back to work.

Getting back to business on Ebay and Amazon

What I am doing that is new

I'm getting back to business. Ebay may be experimenting with feedback, but I think this might be a great time to get back online with them and see how it goes.

And, to list better on Amazon, I am putting pictures on all the books that didn't have them before. It sure worked so far - I did it yesterday and already made a sale.

My new website just for selling

I combined both areas (Ebay and Amazon) in a new web page recently I call The Best Books and Collectibles site. This page lets me show my Ebay things for sale in a window. I can also link to my Amazon books on the same page.

Amazon pages should be snazzier

Those Amazon pages for sellers are too blah. I'm looking for something more snazzy that will show my book photos without the customer having to click on the book link.

I know I can get this by subscribing to an expensive service, but right now as a small seller, I am relying on FREE things.

If you are curious as to what Amazon seller pages look like, here is mine. Remember - to see the photo you must click on the link.

Ebay tips

I've got some Ebay tips on an Ebay Tips page on the betsyanne site that may be of interest to other people who sell on Ebay.

Bookselling tips

I have a page just for booksellers also on the betsyanne site called Booksellers Central.

My favorite bookseller blog

For people who want to learn more about selling books online, I think Steve Weber's Selling Books blog is by far the best.

He tackles new stories and has written three books about bookselling you can buy, too. Plus, his blog is just plain fun and interesting. He has an easy to read style you will like.

I'm off to list!
