Thoughts and a TV show about the sea
It's sort of a guilty pleasure. Because one of my Aunts has stopped watching TV altogether - well, except for a really special occasion. She recommends doing other things. And I can see her point. But there is something about this show, The Deadliest Catch, that just fascinates me.
I have been following the ups and downs of more than one crew fishing for crab in the Bering Sea, and watch as waves, ice, and crashing baskets come crash down onto the decks. Just now somebody almost got caught in a throw line.
One time a ship got to their regular fishing area and a huge bottom fishing boat had scraped the whole bottom of the ocean in their area and stolen their crabs the week before.
Watching this TV show makes me long to see the ocean - in the dark, at night. I would like to go out on to the ocean and look up at the stars again and see giant jellyfish glow and bob around.
When my book is done, I will post a copy of it here on my blog or a link to it and mark it “vacation fund.” Hey, this sounds like a good plan!
