THOUGHTS ABOUT BENAZIR BHUTTO:
A world without Benazir Bhutto is a much darker world. She was talking about the future of Pakistan and I was hopeful she could be part of a positive change to help all of Pakistan. Of course, I always was afraid that she would be eventually killed. It had already been tried.

BHUTTO'S CLAIM TO FAME:
She was the "first female Prime Minister of a Muslim country," as per a story by Agence France-Presse online today. She was also part of a famous Pakistani family. She had recently returned to her country after being away in exile for arguably political reasons.

MORE NEWS ABOUT THE ASSASSINATION:
NPR has coverage on this story today at their site:
http://www.npr.org/

HER FAMILY:
The first question I had was about her family - did she have a big family? A son or d
aughter? She was only 54. All I can find so far is that she has three children. I think we will find out more about them later on, because there is not a lot about them that I could find today.

HOW I FOUND OUT:
My husband told me about this story this morning, and something about her history and that of her family. I wa
s so shocked. I wanted to know more. There was so much I did not know about her, so I decided to look around on the net.

BHUTTO'S FATHER
Did you know that Bhutto's father,
Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the 10th Prime Minister of Pakistan? I did not know that. I know I will be watching to find out if they can identify her killer.
The news has sparked an angry demonstration in Peshawar, reported by the Asia Pacific News.

MORE FACTS CAN BE FOUND HERE:
More stories about her assassination as they occur can be found at the news site The Drudge Report.

BENAZIR BHUTTO'S EDUCATION AND A FAMILY FEUD:
The site at Answers.com has a biography about her that mentions her education at Harvard and Oxford.
The Associated Press gives a partial biography here. The International Herald Tribune has an article about her that tells of mixed reactions and explains about a family feud.

AN INTERVIEW WITH BENAZIR BHUTTO
There is an interesting interview with Benazir Bhutto here at the Academy of Achievement.
