Today going through Terre Haute, Indiana, traffic slowed to a crawl, and we supposed there was an accident ahead.
Instead, the whole road on both sides was flooded, and some of the water threatened to come totally across the road, too.
Whole shopping centers were under water, and people were being evacuated out of the danger areas by bus and boat.
We finally, after about six miles, got to go on to another highway, and we crossed two high water areas. I left my window partly open in case I needed to get out quick.
There were some GREAT scenes - - I didn't have enough memory in my camera, though, so these first photos of water going into houses, the rescue boats (far off) and the evacuation of a nursing home are the only ones I could get.
